We’ve all heard of talk at the water cooler as a phrase used to describe how employees socialize. But that’s not the main benefit of having one in your office. It will keep your workers healthy too. The last thing you want is for a hot and stuffy office to become unmanageable because workers don’t have a fresh water source.

Listen Well

Make sure you are listening to what your employees have to say. Don’t forget, they’re going to be the ones that understand their job the best. So, if they do suggest improvements or changes it’s smart to at least pay attention.

They could have a nugget of an idea, and you can work with your colleagues to improve it into something that could benefit your business model. By doing this, you will also be able to guarantee that workers feel both respected and appreciated. This will keep them loyal and ensure you don’t have to deal with voluntary turnover.

We Are Family

That’s how your employees should feel when they go to work each day. You need to make sure that your team is connected and everyone knows everyone else on a first name basis.

Obviously, as the boss, you’ll need to avoid too much engagement yourself to maintain respect and authority. But you should still think about arranging office days out and activities. This will ensure your workforce stays strong and continues to function as a team.

Take this advice, and we’re sure your employees really will be whistling while they work. At the very least, they’ll be happy enough to keep your business at the top of the market and ahead of the competition.
